Mediation

Mediation - Conflict resolution

I counsel and support you in managing conflicts

  • between shareholders, partners and colleagues
  • in family businesses and on questions regarding the succession
  • in teams
  • about an inheritance or other family issues

Corporate mediation - resolving partner, shareholder and team conflicts in the workplace

As a rule, workplace conflicts are very stressful:

  • They take energy and attention away from important projects.
  • They hinder effective work and cost a lot of time.
  • Internal conflict is expensive for companies and organisations.

Family and couples' mediation - resolving private conflicts

Mediation is proven to be effective in resolving disputes among siblings and other family members over inheritances and estates, over questions of how to provide care for ageing and sick parents and other types of such conflicts. Well-structured mediation helps the involved parties to

  • see the big picture
  • avoid getting lost in detail
  • stop accusing each other
  • adopt a different perspective

Making full use of strengths and resources

With me as your mediator, you will get the benefit of my many years of wide-ranging professional experience as a conflict counsellor, systemic supervisor, therapist and as a lawyer. Because of my background in these varied roles, I have an eye for the broader legal and economic contexts of any dispute.

Mediation in family firms - facilitating smooth successions and generational change

Conflicts escalate more often in family firms than in other types of enterprises because

  • spheres of family, work and ownership overlap
  • private and professional roles intersect

My own experiences have taught me about the values of family firms and how they differ from those of other businesses. I understand the built-in pitfalls and inherent conflicts of family firms as well as the benefits that external counsel can bring. Observing the particularities of a range of different family firms and working for a spell in my own family's business, I have developed special expertise in this area. One of the focal points of my mediations and consultations is the transfer of ownership and leadership in agricultural businesses under the Höfeordnung, Germany's inheritance law for farms.

Organisational Consulting

Organisational consulting - developing strategies and unlocking potential

My organisational consulting can help you optimize your

  • corporate structures
  • internal communications
  • division of responsibilities

As a professional external observer with an eye for systemic contexts, I am well-placed to provide guidance to you and your team. My questioning techniques and interventions will help prepare you for future developments. Ambiguities, conflicts, and weaknesses are resolved. Motivation and performance improve and joy increases in your organisation, thanks to a clear distribution of tasks, the putting in place of good structures and efficient channels of communication. Drawing on my experience in economic and legal matters and my professional expertise in communication, I can provide optimal support for your organisation.

Coaching

Coaching and systemic counselling customized according to your needs

I support you in

  • shaping your interactions to be constructive even in difficult situations
  • continuing to act with self-determination in conflicts
  • recognizing limits and setting boundariesa

With my systemic background I counsel you on

  • situations of personal or professional stress
  • conflicts with your partner
  • coping with excessive demands
  • dealing with conflicts and stagnation

Misunderstandings can be resolved, setbacks overcome and stress can be reduced when interconnections are recognized and acknowledged in context, limits are identified self-efficacy is experienced.

My systemic counselling approach prioritizes focussing on problem solving, mutual appreciation and the recognition of often complex interrelationships.

Couples & Family Counselling

Couple & family counselling

The endeavour closest to my heart is counselling couples and families. In most cases, just a few interventions can help to significantly increase well-being and to gain a better understanding of each other. Communication about communication, also known as meta-communication, frequently works wonders, but can only be achieved with external support. Rest assured of my confidentiality, understanding and respectful appreciation.
